I have been in education for many years after completing a degree in French and History at Hull University, followed by a PGCE at Leeds University. I used to be head of History at a large comprehensive school in Leeds.
I then had a sabbatical and went on to study for a M Ed in Educational Psychology at Manchester University.
I then went on to work for the National Teaching and Advisory Service working with pupils in local authority care and trying to ensure the best possible outcomes for them. Following this, I worked at a local comprehensive school where I taught history and was also the designated LAC teacher.
I currently work for an independent fostering agency where I work with children in foster care, supporting them in school and tutoring them at home.
I am married and have two stepsons. I love animals and have two cats. I enjoy reading, gardening, cooking and travelling.
