I am a Montessori Tutor with extensive experience in teaching Maths and English in creative and engaging ways. Having a background in educational theatre, I believe that children learn best by encouraging their sense of discovery and curiosity.
I have an enhanced DBS check and a Master’s degree in Theatre. Whilst running an educational theatre company for 12 years, in Yorkshire, UK, I created over 50 participatory learning projects for Key Stage 1, 2, 3 and 4 pupils.
In my later career, I have taken up the role of Director at a Quaker-founded environmental charity in Birmingham, UK where I continue to live out my values of being considerate of the planet, encouraging learning and helping people to develop, grow and change. I am also responsible for overseeing the finances and communications so I regularly put my Maths and English skills to practical use.
My approach is based in the principles of respect, kindness, open communication, patience, observation, positivity and consistency. If you’re looking for someone to inspire and develop your child’s skills in Maths and English in an active, creative and engaging way using tried and tested techniques then please do get in touch for a conversation about how I can help.
